SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA McDONALD’S® CELEBRATES ST. PATRICKS DAY WITH TRIPLE-THICK SHAMROCK SHAKES

Angelenos can thank their lucky stars because Southern California McDonald's® restaurants are bringing back Shamrock Shakes in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. For the next month, customers can experience the great taste of Triple-Thick Shamrock Shakes, a delicious treat that features a refreshing mint flavor and festive green color, at participating McDonald's restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties while supplies last.

"For more than 30 years, Shamrock Shakes have been synonymous with St. Patrick's Day," said Neal Ruby, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the McDonald's Operator's Association of Southern California (MOASC).  "We're thrilled to bring back Shamrock Shakes to help our customers get in the holiday spirit."

Introduced in 1970 as a St. Patrick's Day promotion, the Shamrock Shake quickly became the ultimate celebration of everything green and Irish. It is available in 16, 21 or 32 oz. sizes starting at $1.99. Prices may vary.

MOASC is comprised of more than 600 franchised and company-owned restaurants in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura.

EIGHTY-FOUR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PREP STARS NOMINATED TO THE McDONALD’S® ALL AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAMS

Eighty-four Southern California nominees for the McDonald's® All American High School Basketball Teams are competing with more than 2,000 top-rated high school basketball players from across the country to showcase their skills in the 33rd annual Games, which raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Central Ohio. For more than 30 years, McDonald's All American High School Basketball has recognized the best prep basketball players in the nation. Past McDonalds's All Americans include Kobe Bryant, Alonzo Mourning, Magic Johnson, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant.

The 22 female and 62 male nominees were selected by the McDonald's All American Basketball Teams Selection Committee, a group of 32 prominent basketball experts, including nationally-renowned coaches and top high school sports journalists. Finalists will be selected during the McDonald's All American Games Selection Show scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. (EST) on ESPNU.

"We're honored to see so many talented student athletes from our region nominated," said Neal Ruby, president of McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California (MOASC). "I'm pleased to be a part of McDonald's, which not only gives back to the

community through generous donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities, but also recognizes deserving young athletes at the All American High School Basketball Games."

This year's Games will be played Wednesday, March 31 at the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The Boys Game will air live on ESPN at 8 p.m. (EST). The Girls Game tips-off

at 5:30 p.m. (EST) and will broadcast live on ESPNU.  A portion of the proceeds from both Games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.

Throughout its 33-year history, the All American High School Basketball Games has raised over $5 million for RMHC. In addition to the Ronald McDonald Houses, RMHC programs include the Ronald McDonald Family Room and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile - extending the reach of the Charity to directly improve the health and well-being of children in neighborhoods around the world.
